Course Description
The artificial insemination courses taught by Schleining Genetics include many aspects of bovine reproduction including: 1) Introduction to AI and the Industry, 2) Equation of Reproduction, 3) Advantages and Considerations When Using AI, 4) Anatomy of the Female Bovine, 5) AI Equipment, 6) Finding the Target, 7) Semen Thawing and Handling Techniques, 8) Physiology and the Estrous Cycle, 9) Anestrous, Nutrition, and Estrus Synchronization, 10) Estrus Detection and Time for Insemination, 11) Mating Decisions and Insemination Records, 12) Sire Selection, and 13) Herd Health. The course is four days in length and is taught in several locations. This course is designed for individuals who have little to no experience with bovine reproduction as well as those who have taken an AI course in the past. The course includes both classroom lecture and extensive hands-on time with the cows. Live cows, reproductive tracts, and all needed course supplies are provided for the student. This course comes with a complete manual including the above mentioned topics. Each student will have ample opportunity to learn the technique of artificial insemination.

Take the Course for College Credits
Students may receive two college credits through Lamar Community College for any course (cost set by Lamar CC is higher than our cost), if they wish.

NOTE: Non-Colorado Residents will have to pay out of state tuition to receive credit.

Online Registration & Payment for AI Courses
(NO College Credit)

The cost of each course offered through December 2017 is $500.00. Anyone registering after the registration deadline for a course will be assessed a late registration fee of $100.00.

Class sizes are limited to ensure a low student-to-instructor ratio. Priority will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, so online registration and payment is the preferred method.

*If you request a refund prior to deadline date, we will refund minus any fees incurred to Schleining Genetics LLC. After deadline date of class, fees are non refundable. We will offer participant to switch registration to a different scheduled class if space is available.
